''C. danaiana'' exhibited a wide geographic distribution in shallow water (22 to 60 m) in the area between Cape Hatteras and Jupiter Inlet. It was found at seven stations, including 5 (34 m), 10 (31 and 36 m), 14, 42 (60 and 66 m), 59, 70, and 77. Hulings (1966) reported this species from the Virginia coast.
