PROBING
- Starve animals at least 48 hours but no more than 72.
- Place 15 Hydra in a 20 mL dish and add 15 mL HM.
- Adapt Hydra to correct light intensity and wavelength for 6 hours.
- Probe and immediately count discharged nematocysts (recommended 40x).
MAKING PROBES
- Cut fishing line (4 lb).
- Coat in Lysine (adds stickiness)
- Dip 3 times in Jello.
- Let dry between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
